One of the deaths in Iraq today was the son of Andrew Bacevich, author of The New American Militarism: How Americans Are Seduced by War and prominent critic of the war.
“1st Lt. Andrew J. Bacevich, 27, of Walpole, Mass., died May 13 in Balad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his unit during combat patrol operations in Salah Ad Din Province, Iraq.”

There are few patriots who approach the serious questions the Iraq debacle and before have raised with more honesty and an open mind as Bacevich does. Its just a terrible tragedy that his son has fallen in this disgraceful business.
