An interesting statement on a democratic people that feel, according to some polls, powerless to change government and are safely removed from the horrors of war. A factor behind DO’s conclusion is the fact we’re not in an all out war. With the news in Iraq and Afghanistan (remember that place) and elsewhere in the world (there’s an elsewhere?), sweating the small stuff is far better for this Administration.
