If you enjoyed the JSDF recruiting video, you’ll think this Iraqi Police (IP) recruiting video doesn’t have enough glam. I like the ricocheting bullets: first the cartoon effect and then one shot-many kill.

I think the ad is perfect–in an unintended way.The little boy’s fantasies of his father and his partner as Rambo-like supermen (one-shot many kill, fists of fury!) mirror the unrealistic expectations we had about creating an indigenous military and gendarme force in Iraq.
An excellent video. The saluting scene was my favourite – very touching, and I was personally please to see the constables saluting in the Anglophone style (palms facing outwards) rather than the American style.Also good to see the Iraqi police portrayed in a positive way, rather than the unremittingly negative impressions we receive from the western news media: tough, yet shaved, clean cut and with ironed shirts and polished shoes.
